It was a beautiful Friday morning. Not a cloud in the sky, and it was slightly nippy outside. My family and I were going about our usual daily business, when suddenly, all the electricity went out, and we were cast into utter darkness. Well, not quite. It was 9:20 in the morning after all, so the light was shining through the windows and giving us ample light to see by. But, back to my story. My father is a hardworking man, and being as it was Friday, he stayed home. He was hard at work when the electricity went kaputz. Since his line of work requires a constant internet connection, he was instantly unable to proceed any further. At once realizing the predicament he was in he decided to see if the electricity would come on within the hour. So he went out to do some errands. When he got back he found that the electricity was not on still, and the time had progressed to 10:27. He decided that the best move would be to drive into the office. Not even ten minutes later, the electricity regained full strength here at home. Notwithstanding he continued at work for the remainder of the day.
After that, the day was pretty much normal. I know. Very anticlimactic. Kind of a letdown. I’ll bet you expecting something wonderful or horrific would happen. But it didn’t. You can, of course, come up with your own ending if you like.
