Treat the person you are talking to with respect.
I don’t care if they look ugly. I don’t care if they talk nasty. I don’t care if they disagree with you politically, religiously, or metaphorically. They are humans. As such, they deserve the best manners you have to offer.
Avoid insults upon first encounters.
Nobody likes being insulted. Nobody deserves to be insulted by somebody who has never met them before.
Never complain about your significant other.
If you feel the need to let the world know just how annoying, selfish, disrespectful, and stupid they are, then you should probably not be dating.
Assume that everyone knows something that you don’t, and try to learn from them.
Chances are, you will never meet someone where their entire knowledge scope lies completely within yours.
In dealing with people in customer service….
- Assume they know what they are talking about.
- The person you are speaking with is not the head boss, and was not the person who made any of the decisions that you are irked about.
- Assume that you are not their only client. If you were, they would not be able to operate.
- The person with which you are speaking does not have magical powers, and cannot wave a wand and fix everything. They will try their best, but they are not genies.
